Job Title: Planning Manager

Salary: Up to £65,000 Depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage & maintain the programme suite of integrated plans and project networks for each discipline and provide a clear analysis of critical path and potential programme issues
- Maintain the quality of programme activities ensuring logic, budgets and durations etc. which affect the integrity of the plan are addressed
- Establish and maintain a consistent and timely approach in the deployment of the quarterly look ahead
- Briefing senior management on planning philosophy and be the key point of contact to for planning matters
- Facilitate the maintenance of Control Account (CA) schedules to support achievement of contractual requirements of supply chain and programme, together with associated budgets/schedules targets
- Assist and support the project teams in updating their progress against their schedules and in conducting variance analysis, implementation of corrective action plans, mitigation of risk and managing baseline changes to budgets and schedule
- Provide the business with valid / agreed resource profiles by trade, that take account of the approved programme schedules
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Extensive knowledge of planning techniques & processes preferably within Primavera P6
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyse and resolve problems
- Excellent analytical skills and capable of assessing complex data and communicating it to senior management.
- Experience of leading a small team
Desirable:
- Project Management qualifications (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of Ship build design and manufacture processes across the build cycle and delivery requirements of engineering & supply chain to support

The Naval Ships Planning Management Team:
Join our dynamic Naval Ships Planning Management team, where you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering the Type 26 programme! Reporting to the Head of Project Controls and Planning, you’ll lead the Testing and Commissioning planning team, ensuring the smooth delivery of this critical project.
The team will be responsible for transforming contract requirements into a clear and structured suite of programme plans, covering everything from high-level overviews to detailed, in-depth schedules. These plans are essential for the programme delivery teams, allowing them to efficiently manage and track their schedules, budgets, and targets.
