Job Title: Human Resources Advisor

Salary: $85,516 – $98,476
What you’ll be doing:
- Support the HR Manager in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and programs that align with company objectives and local labour standards.
- Facilitate the onboarding and induction process for new employees and international assignees, ensuring a positive and seamless integration into the organization
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, leaves, and workplace issues, escalating when necessary
- Support the creation, coordination, and delivery of training and development initiatives
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation in accordance with data protection requirements
- Contribute to employee engagement initiatives to help foster a positive workplace culture
- Assist in preparation of HR-related reporting, as well time and attendance reporting, ensuring accurate tracking to support payroll and compliance
- Support and help in the creation of ongoing DE&I initiatives training, and workplace practices
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of provincial labour laws, with a demonstrated commitment to staying current on legislative changes and best practices in employment standards, and human rights
- Proven experience in core HR generalist functions, including employee relations, reporting, onboarding, policy implementation, and DE&I
- Hands-on experience acting in an advisor capacity, resolving employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with the ability to create reports, presentations, and documentation that support HR initiatives and decision-making
Desirable:
- Experience using HRIS tools, for managing employee data, workflows, and reporting. Bonus if experience is with BambooHR, SuccessFactors
- Familiarity with SharePoint, including document management and collaboration tools to support HR communications and resources
- Understanding of payroll processes, with exposure to payroll systems and practices, and the ability to collaborate with payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely processing

The Human Resources team:
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the River Class Destroyer program, where you’ll have the chance to work alongside a dynamic and dedicated HR team. You will be an integral part of a larger HR team, led by the Head of HR and supported by two HR Managers. In addition, you’ll collaborate closely with two HR Advisors based in the UK, bringing a global perspective to the work you do.
Your direct supervisor will be the HR Manager in Canada, who will provide guidance and mentorship, ensuring you have the support you need to succeed. You’ll be working alongside a passionate team, all focused on delivering the best HR experience for our employees and contributing to the success of the River Class Destroyer program.
