Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight.
Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience
What you’ll be doing:
•Apply depth and breadth of Manufacturing Engineering knowledge and experience to Support/undertake development in the following disciplines: Electromechanical assembly
•Interpret production drawing data to identify & generate: Tooling requirements, Manufacturing process requirements, handling & safety requirements, estimation of assembly times, methods/routings
•Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions, effective/efficient/practical shopfloor layouts
•Conduct the following health and safety related activities: Risk, COSHH, PUWER, Manual handling assessments
•Undertake technical liaison with sub-contractors and customers
•Develop training packages to ensure modern technologies and processes are understood and correctly implemented
•Work alongside development teams to ensure Design for Manufacture is considered for all new products
Your skills and experience:
Essential:
·Experience of working in a Manufacturing Environment
·Requires a good understanding in MRP/ERP systems
·Excellent understanding of Production Engineering principles
·An ability to read and understand engineering drawings, circuit diagrams etc.
Desirable:
·HNC/D qualification in engineering
·An understanding of the content of engineering change documentation
·The use of related SAP transactions (can be part of training)
·An understanding of the SAP table structures (can be part of training)
·Understanding and experience of Lean Manufacturing Techniques

The Manufacturing Engineering Team:
The Manufacturing Engineering team consists of 6 Engineers, including this position. Our Engineers participate in every step of the build process, providing support to the manufacturing functions to ensure requirements are met. Manufacturing Engineering interact with every department within BAE Systems, interfacing with Procurement, Projects, Stores, Manufacturing, Engineering and more. It is a fast paced, dynamic environment which requires excellent communication, problem solving and planning.
