Job Title: Principal Supply Chain Manager
Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Onsite)
Salary: Circa £80,000 plus executive car allowance depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Championing process excellence through accountable supply chain and procurement practices
- Control Account Manager (CAM) for valves and pumps by interpreting and reporting financial data, while overseeing labour and material budgets in close consultation with key stakeholders
- Ensuring that all cost savings or cost avoidance achieved through negotiations are accurately captured and reported, and review any reported missed opportunities to identify areas for improvement
- Developing and reviewing monthly SOFT reports to ensure the identification of opportunities and risks impacting on the business are understood and any actions required will be achieved in a timely manner
- Ensuring effective supplier management processes are in place, with clear accountability for supplier performance, and take responsibility for driving continuous improvement with existing suppliers
- Leading external communications at the major contract level, representing BAE Submarines in a customer role when engaging with directors of major manufacturing companies
- Conducting regular reviews of internal dependencies and external performance metrics to align with business objectives, while supporting functional review meetings with relevant data and metrics
Your skills and experiences:
- Proven experience in Supply Chain Management and handling major subcontracts within complex projects
- Strong leadership, management, and executive-level business skills, with a track record of driving performance and accountability
- Ability to operate effectively in dynamic and uncertain environments, with strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement solutions
- Possess a broad range of senior-level experience and skills, including project management, product and engineering awareness, commercial and financial acumen, and strong influencing capabilities
- Willingness to travel when required
