This Senior role is the Wing Business Operations Manager responsible for ensuring the immediate operational stability, delivery continuity, and effective crisis management across the AIRBUS Wing supply chain. Delegated by the H/O Wing Procurement Supply chain & Quality (PIAW) on specific crises,youare accountable for coordinating critical activities, mitigating risks, and rapidly deploying recovery plans to secure the flow of materials and services. While driving transformation as a long-term goal, the daily priority is securing operations and resolving acute disruptions, while reporting Executive summary to the H/O Wing Procurement Supply chain & Quality and/or AIRBUS Executive ( H/O FAL, H/O Plant, VP and SVP Supply chain...)
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
1. Operational Interface & Crisis Management
- Act as the primary operational interface with strategic suppliers, driving the execution of supply chain activities and ensuring alignment with internal production schedules.
- Proactively identify, alert, and rapidly escalate critical risks, operational bottlenecks, or delivery disruptions to relevant internal stakeholders. Own the deployment of immediate short-term recovery and de-risking plans to maintain continuity.
- Own the methodology deployment and execution of Crisis Management at high-risk suppliers and critical projects to secure immediate delivery sustainability. Develop trust with supplier leadership to diagnose and resolve organizational/process failures quickly.
2. Performance, Reporting & Coordination
- Rigorously apply current tools to manage and report on overall supplier operational performance, providing timely, data-driven insights to leadership on critical KPIs and potential disruptions.
- Coordinate effectively with key internal stakeholders (e.g., SCQMs, SCQS, Engineering, Manufacturing) on all operational supplier topics, providing guidance and critical support during acute periods of instability.
- Support and Drive Executive meetings with the suppliers in crisis and interact with professionalism and respect with the Top Executives of the AIRBUS suppliers.
3. Transformation and Sourcing Input
- Drive the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN, Problem Solving, 9S) and tools at supplier sites, focusing on immediate process stability and quality reliability.
- Assess supplier capabilities during the tendering phase specifically for operational stability and risk, contributing expert insight to the final supplier selection and the operational/quality clauses of the contract.
- Define, project manage, and review Supplier Quality Improvement Program (SQIP) plans to address root causes identified during operational crises, achieving sustainable performance targets.
ABOUT YOU
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.
Proven progressive experience in Supplier Quality, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Development within a complex, high-stakes manufacturing environment (e.g., Aerospace, Automotive).
Proven, hands-on expertise in leading and resolving supplier operational crises and deploying formal recovery plans under severe time constraints.
Deep expertise in Process Control, Problem Solving techniques, and the practical application of methodologies (LEAN, 9S, AOS, ToW, APQP, etc.) to address End-to-End supply chain development needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt).
Prior experience with recognized quality and assessment frameworks (e.g., IPCA+, CCP, SEP, AS9100).
Demonstrated experience in managing supply chains for direct materials (production parts).
