The DevOps Manager will lead a team to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient cloud solutions. The role drives resilience and observability through monitoring, alerting, and telemetry to ensure reliable operations. It partners with engineering squads to promote standardized CI/CD pipelines and paved-road practices for secure, compliant delivery.
What you will be doing
- Lead the execution of the DevOps strategy and roadmap to enable efficient, secure, and automated delivery of applications and infrastructure.
- Lead and manage a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight to ensure high-quality delivery of cloud solutions.
- Experience of designing, implementing, and optimizing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to accelerate software delivery and improve quality.
- Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and repeatability across environments.
- Oversee the implementation and integration of DevOps tools and automation frameworks to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Implement comprehensive observability practices—including monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting—to maintain visibility, performance, and reliability across all environments.
- Embed security and compliance controls into DevOps processes, ensuring adherence to organizational and regulatory standards.
- Lead and develop a high-performing DevOps team, fostering collaboration between development, operations, and security teams.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and automation to enhance delivery speed and operational efficiency.
About you
- Proven ability to lead teams and foster collaboration across development, operations, and security functions.
- Extensive experience in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
- Strong technical proficiency in cloud platforms and containerization technologies.
- Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform) and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
- Proficiency in monitoring and observability platforms and best practices for system health and performance.
- Strong analytical skills to resolve complex technical challenges and optimize delivery processes.
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles and ability to integrate security into CI/CD workflows.
- Commitment to staying current with emerging DevOps tools, cloud technologies, and best practices.
Interview process
The interview process for this role will be three stages, including a task/ presentation element.
Working Schedule
This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern.
