What you’ll be working on
You’ll be part of the OAC Technical Section, supporting secure and official IT networks and systems used to:
- Analyse Royal Navy operations
- Support modelling, simulation and wargaming
- Capture and analyse data from live trials
- Enable decision‑making that shapes doctrine, tactics and procedures
What you’ll be doing
As an Associate IT Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll:
- Support and maintain Official, Secret and Top‑Secret IT systems
- Administer and support local area networks and relevant cloud services
- Respond to technical requests through the OAC task management system
- Install, maintain and operate data‑recording equipment for trials
- Support modelling, simulation, wargaming and live testing activities
- Work with senior engineers on more complex technical tasks and projects
- Keep a watching brief on new technologies and tools
- Ensure all work meets security, health & safety, and departmental standards

Experience & qualifications
Essential
- Strong interest in IT / technology
Desirable
- Experience of IT system management or networking
- Awareness of databases or software implementation
- Interest in electronics, trials or instrumentation
- Full manual driving licence
- Level 2 Maths & English (GCSE C/4 or equivalent)
- Level 3 qualification in an engineering or science discipline (or equivalent experience)
