JOB TITLE: Manager – Consumer Lending Capital Optimisation
LOCATION(S): Leeds, Halifax, Chester, Bristol
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.
What you’ll be doing
This is a great opportunity to join our Consumer Lending Capital Optimisation team, helping us improve capital efficiency and deliver stronger outcomes for customers across a large and diverse portfolio.
As a Manager in the team, you’ll work across a broad range of initiatives, including product design, customer strategy, portfolio optimisation and risk transfer. You’ll help analyse capital impacts, turn data into clear insights, and support decisions that shape how we optimise performance across Consumer Lending. You’ll also work closely with colleagues across Product, Risk, Finance and Treasury, building a strong understanding of how different areas come together to deliver better business and customer outcomes.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, multi-skilled team that works in an agile way, giving you the opportunity to build experience across different areas while contributing to meaningful capital optimisation initiatives. This role would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, working with others, and developing their technical and commercial understanding in a supportive environment.
We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.
What we’re looking for
3+ years’ experience in financial services, an analytical role, a commercial role, or a related environment where you’ve worked with data, insight or business performance.
2+ years’ experience analysing information, drawing out key insights and using these to support decision-making.
Experience working with financial, portfolio or capital concepts, with an interest in understanding how these support business and customer outcomes.
Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work collaboratively across teams and explain ideas clearly.
Experience managing multiple priorities, balancing independent work with team-based delivery.
Good organisation, attention to detail and a curious mindset, with a willingness to learn new areas.
And any experience of this would be useful:
Experience working with Product, Risk, Finance, Treasury or portfolio optimisation teams.
Exposure to capital optimisation, risk transfer, lending portfolios or customer strategy.
Experience contributing to agile delivery or cross-functional change initiatives.
We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.
