Calling all commercial property lawyers looking in Bristol. Fantastic opportunity for someone looking to get stuck into a broad array of high quality work within a supportive and collaborative team.
About us
We're a Top 100, full-service UK law firm with around 600 employees. With 4 offices in Bristol, Birmingham, London and Watford, we have a close-knit and friendly culture. We believe in integrity and authenticity in each one of us being ourselves both in our interactions with each other as well as with our clients. With a reputation not just for the quality of our work, but also our people, we strive to recruit individuals who are proactive and passionate about what they do.
The Role
Sitting within our large real estate department, you'll gain the opportunity to work closely with a number of our commercial property lawyers, undertaking non-contentious work for a wide range of public and private sector clients (from small regional organisations through to larger national institutions and household names). The work will include property development, landlord and tenant, asset management, acquisitions and disposals, property and estate management on a national basis and commercial property work for our well renowned charities and education sectors. Please note you will not be expected to have expertise in these sectors, as you'll also work with clients outside of these sectors. One of the growing work areas is mergers and disposal/acquisitions of independent schools (which has increased significantly in the last 18 months following the introduction of VAT on school fees) where the team work across departments and gives a good insight to this evolving sector.
About you
You're most likely working at or around the Associate or Senior Associate level and have strong experience in commercial property work as well as ideally having some exposure to supervising colleagues. Whilst we'd like you to have gained exposure to a broad range of property work, we recognise that everyone's career journey is different, so if you've found your role to date to be more specialised than you'd hoped, we'd still be interested to hear from you. For us, your enthusiasm is as important as experience and ability.
Perhaps you're currently working with a Top 100 UK law firm or maybe your career has taken an in-house route. Either way, if you have good experience of advising commercial property clients and a passion for your subject, then we'd be delighted to hear from you.
Where will I be working?
At VWV we have a truly unique and engaging culture. We work hard but we also love to have fun and we recognise that it's the social interaction between us that really shapes our culture. In this way, you'll benefit first-hand from our warm and friendly culture as well as facilitate cross referral opportunities from your colleagues in other teams. We're of course happy to discuss any specific requirements of hybrid working with candidates on an individual basis.
