About This Opportunity
We’re seeking a high-performing, data-driven Acquisition Director to lead our Merchant Services growth marketing strategy and execution. As part of the GTM Marketing leadership team, you'll have full ownership of shaping our new customer acquisition vision and delivering it to help us scale faster. You'll lead a small team of merchant services marketing generalists and marketing operations while collaborating with teams and centres of excellence across Lloyds Banking Group that work on brand, campaigns, paid acquisition, website etc.
The role is pivotal in driving double-digit growth across micro and SMB segments using data-driven insights, cross-functional collaboration, and innovative go-to-market approaches.
This is a leadership role that blends strategy with hands-on execution, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growth environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution: Own and deliver the end-to-end acquisition strategy for Merchant Services, including campaign planning, channel mix, and performance optimisation.
Demand Generation Leadership: Lead the development and execution of integrated demand generation programmes across digital, events, partnerships, and content to drive qualified pipeline growth.
Segment Growth Ownership: Drive acquisition across micro, SMB, and enterprise segments, tailoring GTM plans to each audience and ensuring alignment with sales, product and partnership teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams including Digital Channels, Brand, Campaigns, Paid Media, and Web to deliver full-funnel acquisition programmes. Requirement to influence multiple participants and to coach broadly to get teams aligned behind what market best practice looks like.
Performance & Pipeline Management: Own acquisition critical metrics across the funnel, from lead generation to conversion, and ensure tight alignment with Sales to maximise pipeline velocity and revenue impact.
Commercial & Product Alignment: Work closely with Product and Commercial teams to ensure GTM plans reflect customer needs, market dynamics, and product positioning.
Team Leadership & Enablement: Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of experimentation, agility, and continuous improvement.
Technology & Operations: Lead all aspects of the demand marketing operations function, ensuring the effective use of MarTech and SalesTech platforms to support acquisition goals.
What You'll Bring
Experience: 8+ years (preferred) in B2B acquisition marketing or growth marketing roles, ideally within Fintech, SaaS, or payments. Experience in sales or commercial roles such as partnerships in addition to marketing is a strong advantage.
Strategic Execution: Proven ability to design and implement acquisition strategies that deliver measurable growth and pipeline impact.
Digital & Data Fluency: Strong understanding of digital channels, performance marketing, and data analytics to inform decision-making and optimise campaigns.
Sales Cycle Expertise: Deep knowledge of B2B sales cycles and how to accelerate demand creation and conversion across segments.
Tech Leadership Experience: Experience with implementation of platforms like HubSpot, Salesforce, OneCRM and other MarTech/SalesTech tools.
Leadership & Transformation Expertise: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence partners across a matrixed organisation to transform and excel
Budget Management: Experience managing acquisition budgets and optimising spend across channels and tactics.
