We are looking for a Technology Manager to lead a highly visible & valuable engineering team developing and evolving the services, events and flows that power our flagship sponsored listing software within JET Ventures at Just Eat Takeaway.com in the Grocery & Retail or Retail Media space.
Retail Media are responsible for significant revenue generation within the company, and we’re investing within our engineering teams to meet our commercial & technology targets.
Grocery & Retail are responsible for driving the scale of our Groceries and Retail offering across global markets.
As a Technology Manager you will provide leadership, guidance and career development for teams that are made up of typically between 5-9 engineers. The successful candidate will be a talented and experienced team manager with a strong software development background, and experience in influencing, delivery management, and stakeholder management.

Career development: mentoring your team, conducting performance reviews, guiding career development & maintaining a high standard of engineering output from the team.
Hiring: recruiting, onboarding and retaining our engineering talent
Motivation: fostering a positive, inclusive working environment & team culture.
Delivery management: overseeing our agile development processes to ensure efficient workflow, and project deliverables are met on time.
Communication: provide clear communication to our stakeholders, business leaders and neighbouring teams to ensure that we’re aligning our engineering efforts with our business goals.
Technical roadmap: owning our roadmap, in collaboration with the product manager to ensure we’re prioritising the correct work/projects inline with our business objectives.
Collaboration: Fostering a strong team culture & championing relationship between Engineering, Product and commercial teams, working cross functionally with senior stakeholders to effectively deliver value to the business.
Engineering excellence: Advocate for top-tier technical excellence, guiding the team towards taking ownership over the quality of team deliverables
You will have:
Strong business acumen with the ability to align engineering efforts with company goals, ensuring our technical decisions are driving our businesses success.
Prior experience as a people manager, with proven leadership skills in coaching, mentoring, performance management, and related fields
Having an opinion and not being afraid to challenge our senior leadership with the overall objective of delivering value.
Excellent problem solving abilities and a strong bias for action.
Experience of guiding software engineering decisions via influence, rather than by authority.
An in-depth understanding of software engineering, preferably C#, with an understanding of cloud service providers (We use AWS)
Proven skills in influencing across functions and senior stakeholder management
Demonstrable delivery management capabilities
A deep understanding of software development, the SDLC & a proven track record of delivering high quality software solutions
An ability to manage frequently shifting priorities; are flexible, proactive, and takes initiative and ownership
