Job Title: Export Control Practitioner

Salary: From£35,000 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Conducting export control and shipping activities in accordance with business process, domestic export control regulations and those of other relevant jurisdictions, including US and EU requirements
- Managing shipping activities, liaising with shipping agents to include transportation, import/export due diligence checks, documentation and Customs clearance instructions and declarations, including US supplier ITAR documentation authorisation against the receipt and dispatch of material
- Maintaining auditable shipping records for all imports and exports for the submarines business and support internal/external audits
- Managing the authorisation process for transporting electronic devices abroad in accordance with UK Licencing requirements
- Supporting the Export Control Manager with shipping, HMRC recording and reporting requirements
- Supporting formal Export Control investigations, formulating evidence to present for determination against potential breaches
- Assisting in the upkeep of current Export Control documentation, including processes, procedures, and User Guides, and conducting audits to ensure compliance with business protocols
Your skills and experiences:
- Knowledge and understanding of Export Control regulations and practices preferably within logistics, supply chain, or commercial sectors, including HMRC/shipping requirements, customs duty, and VAT reporting
- Proficient in IT skills, particularly MS Office, experience in SAP would be advantageous
- Excellent skills in engaging and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
- Experience of working in a process or compliance led environment

The Export Control team:
This is an exciting chance to join a dynamic and collaborative team in a role where every day brings new challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to specialise in a bespoke area, becoming a Subject Matter Expert across the business. The team works closely together to manage all import and export activities for the Submarines business across various programmes. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
