The role and purpose
The Business Development team are the early-stage engagement team in the Clue GTM (Go To Market) plan, they work on new customer opportunities (new logo) and customer expansion (the wider use of Clue in a customer or customer group).
These engagements are planned and agreed as focus areas or cohorts. In order to make the engagements possible and as successful as possible we need to make sure that the person engaging (usually the Business Develop Directors but can be Chief Commercial Office or any of the sales team) is connecting with the right people. They must be well briefed and has as much knowledge as possible to ensure our first contact has the highest possible chance of conversion.
This role is to support, organise and enhance the interactions of our Business Development Directors who are subject matter / domain experts. Your role is to support them through a blend of research, administrative excellence, and CRM expertise to help streamline processes, gathering insights, and enhancing the teams outreach efforts.
They are highly experienced professionals who have operated at the highest level of law enforcement, counter fraud and sports corruption and safeguarding. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and working collaboratively to see first-hand the purpose and mission of Clue (to protect society from harm).
About you/ Job Summary
You will be a proactive and detail-oriented Business Development Associate, helping to support our team in driving growth. The focus of this role is a blend of research, administrative excellence, and CRM expertise to help streamline processes, gathering insights, and enhancing the teams outreach efforts. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, leveraging tools like Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and have a keen eye for data accuracy and relationship management.
Key Accountabilities
- Researching into trends, market insights, and organisation backgrounds to identify potential customers and strategic contacts. Using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other platforms to source high-value connections and compiling relevant information on leads.
- Join key meetings with prospects, customers, and internal stakeholders to capture important discussions, action items, and strategic insights. Providing concise meeting summaries and highlighting key takeaways, ensuring that teams have the necessary context for informed decision-making.
- Take ownership of data integrity within Salesforce, ensuring accurate input, tracking, and reporting of customer interactions, pipeline progress, and business development activities. (we currently have around 250 opportunities and 250 target organisations: we maintain contact, notes and opportunity data)
- Manage essential business development administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, maintaining databases, and organising documents. Ensure that processes run smoothly and contribute to efficiency improvements that support the broader team's goals. (we currently use Microsoft O365)
- Working collaboratively with the sales, customer success and professional services teams, to ensure visibility of upcoming top of funnel pipeline ensuring the best handover is provided to the opportunity lead.

- All salesforce data is accurate and up to date, ensuring accurate reporting for the wider business
- Accuracy and depth of prospect research reports
- Feedback from internal teams on relevance and completeness of key takeaways
Experience and skills
Our ideal candidate would have experience in the following areas:
- Proven experience as a Business Development Associate or in a similar administrative role
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), LinkedIn and Salesforce CRM software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive attitude
