We’re looking for a detail-driven Construction Quality & Cost Assurance Assistant Manager, to ensure our workplace projects meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and value for money. This role combines technical oversight, commercial foresight, and stakeholder collaboration, ensuring every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to specification.
As a Quality & Cost Assurance Assistant Manager, supporting the Construction and Standards team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, sustainable workplaces that meet the needs of today and tomorrow. You’ll be at the heart of our construction projects—ensuring compliance, driving quality, and safeguarding value at every stage.
From monitoring on-site activities and conducting inspections to verifying costs and supporting value engineering, you’ll make sure every project is delivered to the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and performance. You’ll collaborate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve issues quickly, maintain governance, and keep projects on track.

Day to day, you will:
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, building regulations, and health & safety standards. Promote sustainability, accessibility, and safety standards throughout project delivery. Conducting site inspections and audits, documenting findings and raising issues where necessary.
Assist in handling handover documentation and post-occupancy reviews and support the implementation of quality control plans and snagging processes. Collaborating with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve quality-related issues.
Assist in verifying quantities and valuations submitted by contractors and suppliers. Supporting cost tracking and reconciliation against project budgets and forecasts and reviewing bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and materials for accuracy. Contributing to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, approvals, and change requests assessed. Supporting the preparation of reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for senior stakeholders.
Ensure all construction activities meet internal governance standards and external regulatory requirements. Supporting audits and assurance reviews, providing evidence and documentation as required.
Liaise with Integrators, design teams, contractors, and workplace experience leads to ensure alignment. Representing the quality and quantity assurance function in project meetings and site visits.

Technical: Experience in cost control, valuations, commercial oversight and quality assurance with a strong understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and health & safety standards.
And any experience of these would be really useful:
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with BIM, IWMS, CAFM, or similar systems/tools
Working knowledge of digital transformation in building services, including software, automation, and AI.
Agile methodology and tools expertise e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Jira & Confluence, and experience of leading & working as part of an agile team.
Ability to work at pace, prioritising tasks and adapting to changing requirements
Experience in managing complex change
