We’re recruiting Senior Technical Architects to help shape and deliver digital services in the Legal Aid Agency, improving access to justice through smarter, more reliable technology.
What you’ll be working on
You’ll join a warm, collaborative multi‑disciplinary environment working with:
- Developers, SREs and security specialists
- User researchers and designers
- Product managers and delivery managers
- Content specialists and wider justice stakeholders
What you’ll do
As a Senior Technical Architect, you will:
- Help create the technical vision for Legal Aid and shape the strategy and technology estate
- Align team structures, domain boundaries and architecture so value can flow effectively
- Design and assure architectures across programmes, with secure by design thinking built in
- Communicate complex systems clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences
- Create patterns, guardrails and guidance that support delivery teams
- Work with risk, assurance and cyber colleagues to ensure priorities are built into the approach
- Mentor, coach and help grow the architecture community (including line management and recruitment)

- Software engineer / cloud engineer / solutions or software architect

- Work across different parts of the web stack (frontend/back‑end/APIs/microservices/databases/event-driven patterns)
- Make and guide strong technical decisions by understanding context
- Communicate clearly and influence across a wide range of stakeholders
- Support teams to uphold security, quality and operational resilience
- Work in agile, user‑centred environments
- Navigate organisational complexity and deliver pragmatic outcomes
