Design digital services that really make a difference. The Intellectual Property Office is looking for a Senior Interaction Designer to help create simple, accessible public services used by people across the UK.
About the role
You’ll join a multidisciplinary team working on large-scale digital transformation, turning complex challenges into clear, user-friendly solutions. This is a great opportunity to shape services, influence design standards, and support others while working to Government Design Principles.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing user-centred services in agile teams
- Creating prototypes and interaction designs across platforms
- Using research and data to inform design decisions
- Producing user flows, service blueprints and journey maps
- Championing accessibility and GOV.UK design standards
- Leading workshops, critiques and design activities
- Mentoring and supporting other designers
What we’re looking for
- Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Strong user-centred design skills across digital services
- Confident using tools like Figma, Adobe XD or GOV.UK Prototype Kit
- Experience with usability testing and user research
- Knowledge of the GOV.UK Design System and principles
- Ability to coach and mentor others
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills
