About Neptune Infrastructure Associates
Neptune Infrastructure Associates is a profitable, established renewable energy investment consultancy. We combine deep industrial expertise with an investor's mindset. As billions of pounds flood into global renewable energy assets, we are launching a dedicated digital product arm to build the next generation of AI-native investment management tooling.
The Problem We Are Solving
In 2026, institutional renewable energy investors are still living in a state of operational chaos—trapped inside fragmented spreadsheets and endless email chains. Because they lack an intelligent system to take the operational strain, capital deployment is reactive and heavily reliant on individual manual talent. Highly paid investment professionals are bogged down by day-to-day administrative noise when they should be focusing on high-impact strategic matters and major portfolio acquisitions.
The Mission
We are building a standalone, AI-powered investment management platform designed to automate the heavy lifting of financial modelling, risk assessment, and asset tracking.
As our Lead Product Developer, you will be the core technical engine of this initiative. You will sit next to the CEO to absorb the commercial vision, shadow our Asset Manager and Operations Director to understand the manual bottlenecks, and independently build the zero-to-one product frameworks. Developed products will first supercharge Neptune’s internal operations before being spun out as a high-margin, client-facing B2B SaaS platform.
🎯 Core Responsibilities
- Zero-to-One Execution: Take high-level business requirements and commercial visions from the CEO and turn them into functional, standalone software prototypes.
- Rapid Prototyping & AI Leverage: Build and iterate the product layout, backend, and AI integration at high speed. You will actively use AI-native development workflows to multiply your own output.
- Unstructured Data Ingestion: Design robust AI pipelines (leveraging LLMs and RAG) capable of ingesting messy, multi-page industry documents (financial models, pdf reporting, emails) and instantly outputting structured investment insights, risks, and data fields.
- On-the-Ground Collaboration: Regularly split your time between our Cheltenham HQ (collaboration with leadership), London WeWork (shadowing asset management workflows) and home working to ensure the system mirrors real-world human needs.
🛠️ Technical & Personal Stack
We care far more about your ability to ship functional software that solves business problems than your specific certifications. However, your ideal toolkit likely looks like this:
- Frameworks: Exceptional proficiency with modern, full-stack frameworks optimised for rapid deployment (e.g., Next.js/React, Node.js).
- Backend & Cloud: Experience with fast-to-deploy database and infrastructure ecosystems (e.g., Supabase, Vercel, PostgreSQL, AWS).
- AI Integration: Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini) and managing prompt engineering or data vectorisation.
- Development Philosophy: You are a dedicated builder. You love using advanced developer tools (Cursor, Windsurf, Github Copilot) to ship code faster. You prioritise user utility and application speed over architectural over-engineering.
- Background: Prior experience building standalone software within FinTech, PropTech, Renewable Energy, or fast-paced B2B SaaS environments is highly desirable.
🎁 What We Offer
- True Autonomy: You are the engineering owner of a greenfield product backed by the financial security of a profitable, established business.
- Direct Impact: No middle management, no bloated software teams. Your code directly alters how multi-million-pound energy assets are managed.
- Competitive Package: A base salary of £70k–£85k, performance-linked bonuses, and long-term equity options.
