The Government Digital Service (GDS) is the digital centre of government. We are responsible for setting, leading and delivering the vision for a modern digital government.

We are home to the Incubator for Artificial Intelligence (I.AI), the world-leading GOV.UK and at the forefront of coordinating the UK’s geospatial strategy and activity. We lead the Government Digital and Data function and champion the work of digital teams across government.
We’re part of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and employ more than 1,000 people all over the UK, with hubs in Manchester, London and Bristol.

Join Government Digital and Data Workforce and Capability, where our mission is to ensure the government possesses the necessary talent to drive digital transformation and overcome the challenges ahead. We're dedicated to enhancing the government's capacity to attract, recruit, nurture, and retain top tier digital and data professionals.
As part of the team, you will help shape the future of digital strategy and capabilities, providing vital insights that support cross departmental policies, standards, and strategies.
We're entrusted with devising strategies and delivering results for a community of 30,000+ digital innovators, aspiring talent, and the broader civil service. Our commitment extends to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and dynamic culture where individuals thrive and excel.
We are responsible for:
- Delivering the cross-government Blueprint for modern digital government
- Digital, Data and Technology Strategy and Standards, like the Technology Code of Practice, the Service Standard and Open Standards
- Cross-government performance and assurance, including Spend Controls
- Government Digital and Data Capability Framework.
Job Description
Digital, Data and Technology Workforce and Capability:
Join the Workforce and Capability team, where our mission is to ensure the government possesses the necessary talent to drive digital transformation and overcome the challenges ahead. We're dedicated to enhancing our capacity to attract, recruit, nurture, and retain top-tier digital and data professionals.
Our priorities within the Resourcing Team:
- Equip departments across Government to build streamlined recruitment processes, adopting and sharing recruitment standards to reduce current and future reliance on contingent labour and time to hire.
- Create targeted recruitment marketing, branding and attraction for Government Digital and Data Profession and Cyber Profession.
- Develop and support strategic recruitment marketing and attraction.
- Develop and deliver Government Digital and Data and Cyber recruitment employer branding and insights.
- Set up and review sourcing and recruitment performance metrics across Government
- Act as the trusted Subject Matter Expert for resourcing across Government within the Digital, Data and Cyber professions.

Key Responsibilities
You will play a key role in supporting our recruitment branding and marketing efforts across government for the Government Digital and Data and Cyber profession.
You will assist in attracting and retaining talent for growing professions, gaining experience in a high- profile area. This opportunity will allow you to contribute to improvements in ways of working and processes for government.
You'll help ensure we continue to attract, engage and retain talent. This position directly involves supporting partnership engagement and data gathering.
Resourcing & Attraction:
- Support the Senior Brand and Partnership Officer with our Regional and DEI Partnerships enhancing our presence and uploading jobs.
- Draft, schedule and coordinate recruitment marketing content for digital platforms (e.g. Page Tiger and Linkedin) working with the communications team.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of recruitment solutions across departments.
- Provide advice to departments on attraction and engagement tactics and support them with recruitment challenges.
- Gather and analyse data to identify initial trends, provide insights to stakeholders and suggest improvements.
- Promote the use of profession brand assets and support departments in embedding them in their hiring processes.
- Attend and support recruitment and partnership events regionally as needed.
- Represent the team in internal and external meetings and engagements when required.
